Hiking around Brinklow

Updated: Jan 13, 2022

Tom Duff picked me up just after 10 and we headed off to the Brinklow area, just outside Coventry.

Nice day for it, very occasional super light rain. Visited "the Tump" in Brinklow, quite an interesting historical artefact. Here is a little bit of information on that here:

We also tried, but failed, to investigate Brinklow Arches. Good wildlife day though, we saw a buzzard, two hares, a pretty large and tasty looking rabbit, various tits, and a panda. Here is a few pictures I took today.

Incidentally, that archway carries the oxford canal over Smite Brook. Pretty impressive when you think about it.

And topped off nicely by lunch and a couple of beers in The Boat, on Shilton lane.

I stupidly didn't take a picture of the pub so I have stolen one. The beer and food were great.

This is a link to the View Ranger map and nerdy stuff.
